A legged - robot team coping with uncertainty Team - Sweden

چکیده
The Swedish national effort to program a team of Sony Legged Robots is described. Each robot uses a layered architecture for real-time situation assessment and decision making, inspired by the Thinking Cap and the Saphira architectures. Context-dependent blending simplifies the integration of higher-level, symbolic deliberation processes and lower level, and numeric control processes. Basic behaviors, as well as the blending mechanism, are implemented using fuzzy logic techniques for coping with uncertainty. A reactive planner is used to generate directions to the lower level about the activation of behaviors.

Team Chaos 2004
“Team Chaos” (formerly Team Sweden) is a multi-university team which has been competing in the 4-legged robot league of RoboCup since 1999. This paper shortly describes the Team Chaos entry for RoboCup 2004. The most distinctive points of our team are: (i) a general, principled architecture for autonomous systems, (ii) hierarchical fuzzy behaviors for fast incremental development of robust beha...
متن کاملAn Architecture for a National RoboCup Team
This paper describes the architecture used by the GermanTeam 2002 in the Sony Legged Robot League. It focuses on the special needs of a national team, i.e. a “team of teams” from different universities in one country that compete against each other in national contests, but that will jointly line up at the international RoboCup championship. In addition, the tools developed by the GermanTeam wi...
متن کاملThe CMTrio-98 Sony-Legged Robot Team
Sony has provided a remarkable platform for research and development in robotic agents, namely fully autonomous legged robots. In this paper, we describe our work using Sony's legged robots to participate in the RoboCup'98 legged robot demonstration and competition. The robots are fully autonomous with on-board vision, control, and navigation. The challenges we addressed in this framework inclu...
متن کاملManaging an Autonomous Robot Team : The Cerberus Team Case Study
Managing an autonomous robot team is a very challenging experience which is compounded by the fact that there are many cutting edge problems that have to be solved and implemented in real time by a team of students that have varying backgrounds, skill, and origins. Being a member of such a team is alsoa very valuable educational experience for the students for both learning theoretical concepts...
متن کاملTowards Learning and Evolving of a Team of Sony Legged Robots
This paper presents a hybrid approach to learning and evolving of a team of Sony legged robots (AIBO) in the robot football domain. These advanced walking robots aim to participate in the Sony Legged Robot League within the RoboCup competition. To achieve this goal, three important issues have been addressed in the paper:(i) multi-sensor based distributed perception, (ii) behaviour based approa...
